Summary

Permittivity and tangent of loss angle in microwave(GHz) band can be measured by the cylindrical cavity resonator method. Characteristics diagram of passing electric power can be obtained by applying the cylindrical conductor which is divided into two parts. Insertion loss (I.L.) of a resonant frequency and 3dB attenuation frequency (electric power peek width) are obtained from the chart. Then, permittivity and tangent of loss angle can be calculated by the formula** using these values.
