Morphological observation of a fiberglass-reinforced resin by Transmission Electron Microscope(TEM)

Print

Summary

It was very difficult to make a good ultrathin section of a fiberglass-reinforced resin for TEM observation by a knife due to a hard fiberglass in a resin.
(A knife is sometimes nicked by a hard fiberglass during cutting a sample.)

ANAC has developed the technology to make such a good ultrathin section of a fiberglass-reinforced resin through the unique pretreatment process.

As a result, ANAC can clearly observe microstructures such as lamella structures of a fiberglass interface, dispersion states of various additives and morphologies of a fiberglass-reinforced resin by TEM.

Example

Sample A: fiberglass-reinforced nylon

Sample B: fiberglass-reinforced block PP
