Fig. shows a excitation-emission contour plot of a yellow fluorescent paint.

This plot was measured by stepwise excitation of 1nm~10nm. It was found that this paint contains a fluorescent material which has a excitation wavelength of 450nm and a emission wavelength of 500nm.

This technology can be applied to analysis of fluorescent properties of additives in polymers etc.

Principle

Light energy(Fluorescence) emitted when a molecular excited by UV or visible light (the first excited state(S1)) releases energy to be back to the grand state(S0) is measured.
